Dine Out: High Flames, Low Light
Gertrude Street bistro Poodle is throwing a backyard party with DJs and a fire-led feast.

Broadsheet’s Dine Out turns up the heat again in 2026 and Gertrude Street’s Poodle is coming in hot with a fire-led backyard party. Chef Kyle Nicol (Lilac, Supernormal, Rascal and Hazel) is running the show. He’ll serve a fire-focused feast for one night only, anchored by suckling pig baguettes cooked over coals on the patio and served smoking hot.

Begin your night in the bistro with flambeau tallow oysters and drinks before making your way outside for the main event. The menu is à la carte for up to five people, or there’s a $75 per person set menu for groups of six or more. DJs will be spinning tunes while the pig spins over the fire, too. One night only and bookings are essential.
